In the second match of the ICC Cricket World Cup League-2, Nepal registered a 9-wicket victory over the Netherlands.
Nepal completed the target of 138 runs presented by the Netherlands at the TU Cricket Ground by losing only 1 wicket in the 16th over. Kushal Bhurtel got off to an aggressive start when openers Anil Shah and Asif Shaikh completed half-centuries for Nepal.
Asif scored 54 not out with 8 fours and 1 six off 45 balls. Anil was not out for 57 runs off 36 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes. These two also shared a partnership of 105 not out for the second wicket.
In the second over, Kushal gave Aryan Dutt an aggressive start by hitting 2 sixes and a four. Bhurtel also hit 1 four and 1 six against Kingma in the third over. Then Kushal was caught out in an attempt to play a big shot in the fifth ball. He scored 28 runs in 11 balls.
Asif Shaikh got a lifeline while remaining on 19 runs. Kroes dropped a catch at short fine leg off Kingma. After that, Anil and Asif played aggressive innings and led to victory.
For Nepal, Kushal Bhurtel took 4 wickets, Lalit Rajwanshi took 2 wickets and Rohit Paudel and Sompal Kami took 1 wicket each. Two Dutch batters were run out.
Nepal has played Dipendra Singh Airi and Dev Khanal while making two changes today. Karan KC and Pawan Sarraf are out from the last game.
