Chennai win two in a row.

                          

In the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), former champions Chennai Super Kings registered their second consecutive win. While registering the second win, Chennai registered a comprehensive victory over Gujarat Titans by 63 runs. Chasing a huge target of 207 runs, Gujarat could score only 143 runs after losing 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. 

 After losing the toss in Cheepak, Chennai was invited to bat first and added 206 runs losing 6 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.

Shivam Dubey played a brilliant innings of 51 runs off 23 balls for Chennai. Rachin Ravindra played an explosive innings of 46 runs off 20 balls. Similarly, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 46 runs from 36 balls. Mitchell remained not out for 24 runs.

For Gujarat, Rashid Khan took 2 wickets and Sai Kishore, Spencer Johnson and Mohit Sharma took 1 wicket each.


Sai Sudarshankak 37 runs remained the highest score for Gujarat. Similarly, Wriddhiman Shah and David Miller scored 21 runs. The other batsmen did not put in a memorable performance.

For Chennai, Mustafizur Rahman, Tushan Deshpande and Deepak Chahar took 2-2 wickets each and Darrell Mitchell and I Pathirana took 1-1 wicket each.

Chennai batsman Shivam Dube won the Player of the Match due to his destructive batting innings of 51 runs in just 23 balls which include 2 boundaries and 5 sixes.
