South Africa beat West Indies by 3 wickets(DLS method)

 


South Africa are finally entered into the semi-final after beating West Indies by wickets(DLS method) in the on-going t20 world cup which is played between West Indies and South Africa at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

South Africa chased the target of 136 runs given by West Indies. After some time rain comes continuously, the target and over to be completed is reduced by the ICC and made the target of 123 runs which should be complete in 17 overs. However, South Africa complete this target in just 16.1 overs by losing 7 wickets. For South Africa, Opener Quinton de Kock scored 12 runs in 7 balls including 3 boundaries while another opener Reeza Hendricks goes for a duck in the very first ball. Captain Aiden Markram scored 18 runs in 15 balls which include two boundary. Similarly, Tristan Stubbs, Heinrich Klaasen and Macro Jansen scored 29 runs in 27 deliveries including four boundaries, 22 runs in 10 balls and 21 runs in 14 balls respectively.

West Indies couldn't restrict this small target from South Africa as a result they lose this game and out of the tournament as well. For West Indies, Roston Chase take the highest wicket as he take 3 wickets by conceding 12 runs in 3 overs. Similarly, Andre Russell and Alzarri Joseph both take equal two wickets for each by conceding 19 runs and 25 runs respectively in 4 overs. While, other batsman fails to take wickets.

In the first innings, West Indies made 135 runs in 20 overs by losing 8 wickets as a result South Africa had to chase 136 runs but due to rain the target has reduced to 123 runs in 17 overs. For West Indies, Opener Shai Hope goes for a duck in the first ball. While, another opener Kyle Mayers scored 35 runs in 34 balls including 3 boundaries and 2 sixes. Roston Chase scored the highest runs for West Indies which helped to give the respectable target even after failing to score runs of all batsman. Chase scored brilliant half-century as he scored 52 runs in 42 deliveries including 3 boundaries and 2 sixes. Captain Rovman Powell goes after scoring just 1 runs in 2 balls. Similarly, Andre Russell and Alzarri Joseph scored 15 runs and 11 runs respectively. While, no any other batsman couldn't add contribute in double digit runs.

From South Africa bowling side, Tabraiz Shamsi take the highest wickets as he take 3 crucial wickets by conceding 27 runs in 4 overs. Similarly, Macro Jansen, Captain Aiden Markram, Keshav Maharaj, and Kagiso Rabada all pick one wicket for each of them.

Tabraiz Shamsi became Player of the Match(POM) as he take 3 important wickets by giving 27 runs in 4 overs. This is the second POTM awards for Shamsi.
