India entered into the final after beating England by 68 runs in the second semi-final in the on-going t20 world cup 2024 which is played between India and England at Providence Stadium
England can't chase the target of 172 runs given by India where they were become all out at just 103 runs in 16.4 overs. England batsman fails to achieve the target and can't reached into the final in this world cup. England is the defending champion of t20 world cup 2022. England batsman couldn't contribute runs which results them to lose this game. For England, Opener Phil Salt departs just for 5 runs after playing 8 balls while another opener Captain Jos Buttler scored 23 runs in 15 balls including 4 boundaries. Similarly, Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, and Jofra Archer scored 25 runs in 19 balls including 3 boundaries, 11 runs in 16 balls, and 21 runs in 15 balls including 1 fours and 2 sixes. While, any other batsman couldn't add runs in double digits.
Indian bowlers showed their bowling class in this important game especially spinners did their job very well so that India can easily win this game. For India, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav both pick 3 equal wickets for each by conceding 23 runs and 19 runs respectively in 4 overs each. Similarly, Jasprit Bumrah take 2 wickets by conceding 12 runs in 24 overs. While, other bowlers become wicket less.
In the first innings, India starts destructive after losing of Virat Kohli wicket. Virat Kohli is performing bad in this world cup where he used to come in no.3 but in this world cup he's opening with Captain Rohit Sharma. While, another opener Captain Rohit Sharma performed very well and scored a brilliant half-century which is the second fifty for him in a row. He scored 57 runs in 39 balls including 6 boundaries and 2 sixes. Similarly, Surya Kumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya scored 47 runs in 36 balls including 4 boundaries and 2 sixes and 23 runs in 13 balls including 1 boundary and 2 sixes. Ravindra Jadeja scored not out 17 runs in 9 balls which include 2 boundaries. Due to the outstanding performance of Rohit Sharma, Surya Kumar Yadav and Indian bowlers they successfully win this game and reached into the final of t20 world cup once again.
England bowlers starts good with 2 wickets in the first power play. After that, Captain Rohit Sharma and Surya Kumar Yadav started to hit some runs and builds a pressure on England bowlers. For England, Chris Jordan take the highest wicket as he take 3 wickets by conceding 37 runs in 3 overs. While, Reece Topley, Jofra Archer, Sam Curran and Adil Rashid all picks equal one wicket for each.
Axar Patel became Player of the Match(POTM) due to his overall performance as he scored 10 runs in 6 balls with bat and he picks 3 crucial wickets by conceding 23 runs in 4 overs.
